Dimeco, based in Pirey since 1957, is a world-renowned manufacturer of press feed lines, cut-to-length lines and turnkey solutions from sheet metal coils. Aware of the green economy, it is now keeping a close eye on the markets opening up in renewable energies. "We've been involved in solar panels for over 10 years, manufacturing cutting lines for support frames and structural parts. The photovoltaic market has been very buoyant for several months now. We have several orders in hand, with deliveries scheduled for the end of 2023 and the first half of 2024. This is a market that could account for almost 10% of our sales, and one that we describe as mature, because the technical solutions exist," notes Sylvain Touboul, Sales Director. This market differs from the hydrogen market, in which the Biel-based company has been active for several months and has a number of projects to its credit. "A number of players are interested and looking to position themselves. We have received enquiries from our customers, press manufacturers and integrators, but also from new entrants. Hydrogen is not just about manufacturing fuel cells; there are many other markets with sheet metal cutting issues. Dimeco can bring all its expertise to bear on feed lines incorporating materials that are delicate to work with, such as very fine stainless steel, mirror-polished or pre-painted steels.
